SAFEGUARDING
Drum 4UR Life is committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone who takes part in our sessions. Although our activities are predominantly for participants aged 16 and over, we still follow good safeguarding practice to protect young people and adults at risk.
To keep our sessions safe and supportive for everyone, all participants are expected to follow our safeguarding guidelines and behave respectfully towards others. If a participant’s behaviour or actions do not meet these safeguarding expectations — or if their presence creates a risk to themselves or others — Drum 4UR Life may ask them to leave a session or withdraw their attendance. This decision is made only to protect the wellbeing of the group.
1. Our commitment to safety
We aim to ensure that all participants feel respected, supported, and safe during our activities. We promote wellbeing, inclusion, and positive participation in every session.
2. Who we safeguard
We safeguard:
-
Young people aged 16–17 who attend our sessions
-
Adults who may be at risk due to health, disability, circumstances, or vulnerability
-
Anyone who shares a concern about their own safety or the safety of others
Our sessions are not designed for children under 16, and we do not provide childcare or supervised activities for younger age groups.
3. When we share information
We only share safeguarding information when:
-
Someone is at risk of harm
-
We are legally required to do so
-
It is necessary to protect a young person or adult at risk
We always aim to be open and transparent unless doing so would increase risk.
6. Working with partners
When we deliver sessions with organisations such as RAMH, community groups, or colleges, we follow their safeguarding procedures as well as our own.
