BUILDING COMMUNITY THROUGH RHYTHM
The team work hard to deliver and facilitate sessions within our community, and as a group, we rely entirely on donations and local funding grants to help us continue making a positive impact in our area.
Drum 4UR Life continues to run weekly sessions in North Ayrshire for those aged 16 and over, focused on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, along with monthly workshops across North Ayrshire.
Meet the Committee
Drum 4UR Life is shaped by a team of volunteers led by a dedicated committee.
Chairperson
Wilma Deatcher
Wilma has been an integral part of Drum 4UR Life since 2022 and now serves as both chairperson and a valued member of the team. In addition to her leadership role, Wilma is also a Drum Circle Facilitator, bringing a wealth of enthusiasm, creativity, and insight to our sessions. Wilma’s dual contribution—both behind the scenes and on the ground—continues to shape and strengthen the heart of Drum 4UR Life.

Linda Jamieson
Linda has been part of Drum 4UR Life since 2022 and is a valued member of the committee. In her role as treasurer, she brings a reliable and organised approach to the financial side of our work, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Alongside this, Linda is also a Drum Circle Facilitator. Her dual role allows her to contribute meaningfully to both the practical and creative aspects of the group, supporting the continued growth and development.
Project Co-ordinator
Michelle Connolly
Michelle is the project co-ordinator for Drum 4UR Life and supports the on going development of the team and community activities. Michelle creates an environment where everyone can thrive and benefit from our sessions. ​Michelle has been the community musician for Drum 4UR Life since 2019.
Vice Chairperson
Jon Stevenson
on is a Peer Tutor with RAMH North Ayrshire Wellbeing and Recovery College and plays a key role in the ongoing success of Drum 4UR Life. Drawing on his experience and passion for peer support, Jon brings a thoughtful and compassionate approach to his work. He leads the team at 'Drum 4UR Life Largs. With the support of the committee, Jon continues to contribute meaningfully to the group’s growth and the wellbeing of those we serve.

Wilma Paton
Wilma has been part of Drum 4UR Life since its beginning and now serves on the committee. Wilma continues to offer thoughtful input and guidance, playing an important role in shaping the direction of our group. Her support and insight have been instrumental in helping us grow and develop inclusive, engaging experiences for all participants.

Jeanette Allan
Jeanette alongside Dr Jane Bentley pioneered 'Drumming for Wellbeing' now known as Drum 4UR Life in 2019. Jeanette is the Manager of RAMH North Ayrshire Wellbeing and Recovery College where she is passionate about arts, creativity and wellbeing. Jeanette overseas the Mentorship Programme.​
Secretary
Liz Nickerson
Liz has been involved with Drum 4UR Life since 2024 and has quickly become a valued member of the group. Her enthusiasm, attention to detail, and commitment to the group have been greatly appreciated. She now serves on the committee as the group’s recording secretary, where she plays a key role in keeping us organised and informed.

Kim Taylor
Kim's passion for mental health advocacy and lived experience bring great strength and authenticity to her role. With the ongoing support of the committee and co-ordinator, Kim now leads the team at 'Drum 4UR Life Irvine', where her leadership, warmth, and dedication help create a welcoming and supportive environment for all involved.
RAMH North Ayrshire PEER
Kelly Ann Middlemiss
Kelly Ann plays a vital role in providing peer support during our sessions as the appointed peer from RAMH North Ayrshire Wellbeing & Recovery College, helping students engage with our weekly sessions. Kelly Ann is also a VMC 3-Day graduate and a valued member of our facilitators team.

Drum 4UR Life is served by a dedicated team of volunteers who are trained Drum Circle Facilitators.
A Mentorship Programme has been designed as part of the ongoing investment for those who have attended the UK Playshop Drum Circle Facilitation Training . These workshop are in partnership with RAMH North Ayrshire Wellbeing & Recovery College. Invited guests are welcomed as part of the training and equipping sessions.
FACILITATOR TRAINING
Our dedicated volunteers are trained facilitators who continuously develop their skills to enhance the quality of our sessions. As part of their ongoing development, they have attended the UK Playshop, a premier training event for drum circle facilitators.
Additionally, five facilitators are currently trained in Rhythm 2 Recovery, equipping them to deliver tailored, bespoke sessions designed to meet the unique needs of specific groups. This commitment to professional growth ensures that our facilitators bring expertise and creativity to every session they lead.

We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants in our sessions. As part of this commitment, all appointed facilitators are thoroughly vetted and hold PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) certification for working with vulnerable adults. This ensures that our facilitators meet the highest standards of safeguarding, creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.
